お庭外は「Demon out」福は内「Good luck in」
子供たちは大きな声で豆を投げ、鬼を退治に挑戦しました！
【A day at HKI】

We had Setsubun, a traditional Japanese festival in which people celebrate the beginning of spring.
The watchwords were “Demon out(Oniwa-soto)” and “Good luck in(Fukuwa-uchi)”.
The children threw beans and tried to knock out the demon!

この日の小さい子供たちのクラス活動は、いくつかの英語の歌に合わせ踊ったり、歌ったり、ゲームでは色を探したりしました。
また、それぞれのペースで進めるワークブックでは、アルファベットに色を塗ったり、線で繋いだりしました。子供たちは自分のページが終わると「I did it!!」と元気な声で先生を呼ぶ声が教室に飛び交っていました。

The little ones danced, sang along to songs, and played color-searching games.
They also worked on their workbooks at their own pace, coloring and connecting the big and small letters. When they finished, they called out to their teachers with their cheerful voices, “I did it!”
12月はクリスマスについて学びました。ツリーをみんなで準備したり、クリスマスパーティーの出し物の練習をしたり、子供達は毎日ワクワクしながら過ごしていました。クリスマスパーティーでは、歌や楽器、ダンスの発表を行い、スペシャルゲストも登場！子供達は目をキラキラさせて英語でサンタクロースとの会話を楽しみました。
Christmas Party 2024
In December, we learned about Christmas. The children were excited every day as they prepared the Christmas tree together and practiced their Christmas party entertainment. At the party, they enjoyed singing, playing musical instruments, dancing, and a special guest! The children enjoyed talking with Santa Claus in English with sparkling eyes.

英語だけの授業に最初は緊張しましたが、馴染みのある歌やフレーズが多いので、私自身も家で子供への声掛けに継続しやすかったです。私の子は先生やお友達にカラーボールやアルファベットのパネルを貰うと「Thank you」と返事を返し、家では習った歌を口にするなど、とても成長を感じる事ができました。
毎年恒例の運動会が開催され、たくさんのご家族にご参加いただきました。
子どもたちは、ダンス、かけっこ、綱引き、玉入れ、クラス対抗の競技に全力を尽くしました！今回から綱引きを再開し、子どもたちはお父さん、お母さん、先生と対戦することに大興奮でした！とても楽しい運動会でした。
We had our annual Sports Day and we had many families attend.
The children did their best in dance, running, tug-of-war, basket ball, and class competitions! We reintroduced tug of war to the competition and the children were very excited to compete against their mothers, fathers, and teachers! It was a very fun Sports Day.😁
消防署へ見学に行きました！
日本の消防車とは違うサイズやデザイン、サイレン音に目を見開く子供たち♪消火器の練習や防護服の試着、消防車にも乗せてもらいました。貴重な経験ができました！
We went on a field trip to a fire station that owns American fire trucks!
The children’s eyes were wide open at the size and design of the vehicle and the sound of the siren ♪ They practiced using a fire extinguisher, tried on firefighter’s uniforms, and had a ride in a fire truck. It was a valuable experience for them!
What is Baby Roo class • • •
Baby Roo class, which has been postponed for a long time due to the pandemic, will resume. This class is an opportunity for parents and children to learn songs, dances, picture books, etc. from a native foreign teacher with the purpose of early input of beautiful sounds.
Baby Rooクラスとは・・・パンデミックで長らく延期しておりました、ベビークラスが再び開講します。親子で一緒に、ネイティブ外国人講師より、歌やダンス、絵本などを綺麗な音で早期インプットすることを目的としたクラスです。
The younger a child is when they are exposed to the sounds of a new language the better their chance of learning that language in the future. A child's ears are ready to accept sounds from any language on earth when they are born, but after a time the brain begins to glean unnecessary brain cells - such as the sounds of English or French or Korean or any other language which are not necessary for speaking Japanese. These unnecessary parts are allowed to die as the brain goes about the work of making synapses that ARE necessary for survival in the child's daily life. In order to keep these parts we simply need to keep them in working order and that is why living with a new lan-guage in "immersion" is an extremely efficient way to learn. 新しい言語の音に接する年齢が早ければ早いほど、将来その言語を習得する可能性は高くなります。生まれた時、子供の耳は地球上のあらゆる言語の音を受け入れる準備ができていて、成長と共に、脳は不要な脳細胞を、例えば日本に生まれ日本語だけを聞き続けると、英語やフランス語、韓国語など、日本語を話すのに必要のない言語の音を雑音と認識します。脳は日常生活で生き残るために必要なシナプスを作る作業をするので、不要な細胞は捨ててしまうのです。そのため「イマージョン（没入型）」を意識し、その言語（英語）だけで生活、耳を育てることは、言語習得において非常に効率的な学習方法であると考えています。
