春が少しずつ感じられるようになり、子供たちは素敵な制作をしていました。もうすぐ桜も満開ですね！

Signs of spring are starting to appear. The children were working on some wonderful crafts. The cherry blossoms will be in full bloom soon!

この日は卒園を控えるお友達と一緒に全員で山下公園へピクニックに出かけました。今回はグループでシャボン玉の液を作り、様々なタイプのフレームで小さいシャボン玉や大きいシャボン玉を作りました！

On this day, we all went on a picnic to Yamashita Park with our friends who are about to graduate. This time, we worked in groups to make bubble soap and created both small and large bubbles using our own special frames!

2026年3月, 卒園生は先生に赤いローブを着せてもらい、堂々とステージに立っていました。彼らはHKIで過ごした思い出や、成果、将来の目標をスピーチし、家族、先生、お友達への感謝の歌は、この場にいた全ての人の記憶に残る素敵な時間でした。HKI卒園おめでとう！また世界のどこかで会おう！

In March 2026, on this special day for our graduates, the children stood proudly on stage after their teachers helped them put on their red robes. Their speeches—sharing memories of their life at HKI, their achievements, and their hopes for the future—along with songs of gratitude for their families, teachers, and friends, made for a wonderful moment that will remain in the memories of everyone present. Congratulations on your graduation from HKI! See you again somewhere in the world!

この日は節分の豆まきをしました。「Demon out！」「Good luck in！」 子供達の大きな声と豆を投げられ、鬼は逃げていきました！

We celebrated Setsubun today with our traditional bean-throwing ceremony! With thunderous shouts of “Demons out!
Good luck in!” and a flurry of beans, the children successfully chased the demons away.

毎日寒い日が続いていますね。この日の小さい子のクラスでは「冬服(Winter chloth)」について学んでいました。「What kind of clothes do you wear when you go outside on cold day?(寒い日に外へ出かけるとき、どんな服を着るかな？)」季節や天気によって服装を変えること、自分で体感して必要な生活力も英語で学んでいきます。

自分で着用するのは難しい？できるかな？と一生懸命トライする姿に先生たちも成長を感じていました。大きい子のクラスでは毛糸でセーターを作っていました。好きなように毛糸を通し、自分だけの洋服を作りました。

It’s been cold every day lately. In the little kids class that day, they were learning about “winter clothes.” “What kind of clothes do we wear when going outside on cold days?” They’re learning about changing clothes according to the season and weather, and gaining essential life skills through personal experience—all in English. Is it hard to put them on by yourself? Can you do it? The teachers could see their growth in the children’s earnest efforts as they tried their best. In the big kids class, they were making sweaters with yarn. They threaded the yarn however they liked, creating their very own clothes.

冬休み明け、HKIの通常授業も今週再開しました。子どもたちは久しぶりに会う友達や先生たちと、賑やかに会話を交わしていました。“How was your holiday?” “I went to grandpa and grandma’s house!” “I got some Otoshidama! It wasn’t coins!!” “I ate some Omochi!” 等、たくさんの会話が飛び交っていました！
2026年も元気いっぱい、たくさんの活動をしていきましょう！！

Happy New Year 2026!!
After winter break, HKI’s regular classes have resumed this week. The children spent lively moments chatting with friends and teachers they hadn’t seen in a while.
“How was your holiday?” “I went to grandpa and grandma’s house!” “I got some Otoshidama! It wasn’t coins!!” “I ate some Omochi!” – lots of conversations like these were flying around!
Let’s do lots of activities full of energy in 2026 too!!

HKIのクリスマスパーティーは毎年保護者の皆様と一緒に賑やかに行われます。
クリスマスの歌やハンドベルの演奏、ゲームに加え、今年は新しくクラフトや劇もあり、みんなで楽しめるをテーマに笑いあり、涙ありのパーティでした。
毎年スペシャルゲストも北極から来ていただき、子供達は目の前の大きなサンタさんに驚きと緊張の中、1人ずつプレゼントをもらい、最後は笑顔でハグやハイタッチをしていました。Merry Christmas!!

HKI’s Christmas party is held every year with lively participation from all the parents.
Along with Christmas songs, handbell performances, and games, this year featured new additions like Christmas crafts and a play. Centered on the theme of everyone enjoying themselves, it was a party filled with laughter and tears.
Every year, a special guest also comes all the way from the North Pole. The children, surprised and nervous in front of the big Santa Claus, each received a present one by one. In the end, they were all smiling as they hugged and high-fived him. Merry Christmas!!

Happy Halloween!

この日は好きなコスチュームで1日を過ごしました。

先生も個性豊かな衣装でお出迎え「Goodmorning！」子供たちはお気に入りの衣装のポイントをたくさん教えてくれました。

近くの商店街へパレードに出かけ、街の皆さんへ「Happy Halloween！」と声をかけパレードを楽しみました。ゲームやクラフト、歌などを1日中楽しみました！

Happy Halloween! We spent the day dressed in favorite costumes.

Teachers greeted us in unique costumes, saying

“Good morning!” The children showed off all the special details of their favorite costume pieces.

We went on a parade through the nearby shopping street, greeting everyone with “Happy Halloween!” and enjoying the parade. We had fun all day with games, crafts, and songs!

今年もHKI SportsDay 2025 が開催されました。
マーチングで開始した運動会は、ラジオ体操やダンス、先生が手作りしたビックバンツを使った玉入れ、小さい子達は保護者の方と障害物レースをハロウィンコスチュームを付けて楽しみ、大きい子達はコーンスタックレースなどをしました。
今年は初めて親子リレーにも挑戦し、大人も子供も一生懸走ってバトンを繋げました！！

The HKI Sports Day 2025 was held recently.
The games began with a marching performance, radio exercises, and dancing. Activities included a ball toss using handmade big pants made by the head teacher. Younger children enjoyed an obstacle race with their parents while wearing Halloween costumes, and older children participated in events like a cone stack race.
This year, we tried a parent-child relay for the first time, and both adults and children ran hard to pass the baton!!
